So this comes with a bit of an explanation…
A couple of nights ago, I had the first nightmare that wasn’t anxiety-related in years… and I mean, years. Even with anxiety nightmares, I’m never REALLY scared… but this one really fucking terrified me.
I mean, my dreams are usually non-sequential. They don’t really make any logical sense and are never in order… but this one worked a little too well, y’know? Things that stood out to me about the dream (because it’s way too long to really put into one post) are as follows:
It took place over the span of two days. Every time these guys showed up it would rain and then start snowing. The man was blind and was being led by this horrifying giant, black wolf dog thing that would literally just rip people to shreds. The first time it showed up, I saw it tear apart the other people in my dream. The second (and last) time the rain started and it started to snow, my sister (who looked like her freshman-self) and I (who was blond) hid in my closet in a pile of blankets and pillows. She turned to me and wrote on my back with her finger, “Are you 11-years-old? Neither am I.” Then, after a while, I fell asleep in the dream. Like, I actually felt myself fall asleep in the dream, then come back to consciousness. It was the weirdest feeling… like, suddenly all that fear and heaviness from the dream sort of washed away and I was warm and felt safe, again… and I almost felt myself go from the closet to the secondary bed next to my bed.
It was by far the strangest dream I’ve ever had… it was nothing like any dream I’ve had before. It was just… terrifying. I felt jaded the entire next day.. I couldn’t do anything.
That was my nightmare… first actual nightmare.
